Pride
of the association has been its ability to link tradition and modernity
in an executive functional synthesis to the transformation in mosaic or
cartoons of painters and / or designers always safeguarding the quality,
using strictly artistic-craftmanlike techniques.
With
regard to this we quote the useful collaborations with: Chagall,
Guttuso, Campigli, Saetti, Vedova, Severini and
many others.
Among
the many artists who have approached the art of mosaic producing cartoons
for their transposition, it is important to quote Kokoschka (1974) and
Sharir (1995).
Kokoschka's
project, an oil "cartoon", size 1.40 X 2.10 m., portraying the foreground
of a crucified Christ, in pain with a soldier, giving him a sponge soaked
in vinegar in order to protract his agony, was given to the old church
of S.Nicolai in Hamburg, almost destroyed during the last war.
Kokoschka,
in one of the most uneven period of his life, wanted to give a strong message
reminding the sadness and the pain suffered in the universalism of Christ. |
